HIGH-IMPACT COLOR
Fashion Color & Vivids
Custom-blended transformations.
Color that stands out
Vivids / Fashion Colors are for those looking to make a statement with custom-mixed, high-pigment shades. Whether you want a full-head transformation or a hidden pop of color, these services require a "double process"—first lightening the hair to create a clean canvas, then applying your custom shade. Because these colors sit on the surface of the hair, they are designed to be temporary and fun, fading beautifully over time. Please call the salon to book extra time for thick or extra long hair.
Consultations are encouraged for first-time color clients.
All color appointments include: a relaxing shampoo/scalp massage, style/styling aids, maintenance and product info.
The Blend: Custom-mixed. Tailored to your skin tone.
The Result: High-impact color that turns heads.
Upkeep: Most Vivid clients need a refresh every 4–8 weeks to keep the pigment popping.

What To Expect?
Step 1: The Strategy
Designing Your Look
Every Vivid appointment starts with a real conversation about your hair history and your goal shade. We analyze your current base and hair health to map out the safest path to your new color—whether that’s a one-day transformation or a multi-session journey.
What Does It Cost
Step 2: The Canvas
Lightening & Prep
To make neon or pastel colors pop, we first have to create a clean, light canvas. We carefully lift your hair to the necessary level of blonde, ensuring we maintain the strength of your hair so the final color looks vibrant, not dull.
Level | Vivid Color | Time
Junior | $275 | 3 Hours
Advanced | $280 | 3 Hours
Senior | $285 | 2.25 Hours
Owner | $300 | 2.25 Hours
Step 3: The Science
Custom Pigment & Bond Protection
Once we've reached the right level of blonde, we apply your custom-mixed shade. We use professional-grade pigments and bond-builders to lock in the color, leaving your hair with a smooth, high-shine finish that lasts.
Taking care of your vivid / fashion color isn't complicated, but it does require the right approach and quality haircare.
Step 4: After Visit Upkeep
Maintenance & Aftercare
Keeping your color bright takes a little strategy. The Essentials: Wait 72 hours before your first wash so the pigment can fully set. When you do wash, use cold water and a professional sulfate-free shampoo—heat is the enemy of vivid hair. We recommend a quick toner refresh every 4–6 weeks to keep the shade saturated and looking intentional between full appointments.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
It depends on where we’re starting. If your hair is already light or natural, usually yes. If you have years of dark box dye, we’ll be honest with you—it might take a couple of sessions to get there safely. We’d rather get you to a pretty "in-between" shade than fry your hair to get a specific blue in one day.
-
Because Balayage is a custom, hand-painted service, it requires more time than a standard color. Most appointments at Red Chair take between 3 and 4 hours. This ensures we can take the time needed for precise application and the proper processing time to keep your hair healthy.
-
For the first few washes, yes, it can "bleed" a little. We recommend using an old towel over your pillow or sticking to dark-colored linens for the first week after your appointment.
-
We wish we could say no, but yes. Hot water opens the hair cuticle and lets that expensive pigment wash right down the drain. Think of it as a "cool rinse" to lock the color in.
-
The cool thing about custom vivids is the fade. Most of our colors are blended to fade into pretty pastels, so your hair still looks intentional even as the pigment lightens up.
